Campesinos
central america & africa
farm: Yapaz Bajo, San Luis de Shuaro
process method: semi-washed
roast style: dark
roaster tasting notes: marshmallow, peppermint, milk Chocolate
A rich and bold blend, roasted darker and carefully crafted by small communities across Central America and Africa. Campesino means farmer and this blend is a tribute to their hard work and dedication.
Campesinos are the heartbeat of rural communities, tending the land with dedication and profound respect for nature. They embody resilience, tradition, and a deep connection to their roots, nurturing both the soil and the spirit of their heritage.
This blend is produced by COOPAGRY. Members of the Vivanco family from Yapaz Bajo united to pursue a shared dream: producing and exporting their own coffee. They formed a family-run cooperative called COOPAGRY after discussions over coffee in Villa Rica. Their mission was to focus on quality, collaborate with neighbors, and export their coffee directly, ensuring more value stayed within their community. This contrasted with the regional model where middlemen exploit small farmers by purchasing coffee at low prices and reselling it to large cooperatives.
